The worst programs to promote:

Code Chameleon
For some reason, the market never accepted this program. The program is solid, but we only sell few copies per month. Unless you are a lot better at marketing than we are, promoting Code Chameleon is a total waste of your time.
C# Editor
This program used to be our shining star, the absolute BESTSELLER. Not any more. It was killed by freeware programs SharpDevelop and Microsoft's C# Express at the low end and by Visual Studio at the high end.
Don't promote C# Editor - it's a dead duck in terms of sales.
Ebook Wizard
Ebook Wizard is brilliant in its simplicity. The problem is that there are just too many ebook generators around.
Too many competing products, over-saturated market = not enough sales to make it worthwhile to you.

The best programs to promote:

JavaScript Editor
This product is big, unique, and equally suitable for complete beginners and seasoned professionals. JavaScript Editor has no serious competitors, apart from one. They have stolen around 75% of the design from our JavaScript Editor, and even copied our promotional materials - I don't know how they can sleep at night. I cannot even name them - the legal risk is too big.
Anyway, instead of going to court we've decided to fight back by making JavaScript Editor even better and friendlier, and up until now sales have been excellent.
If your website has anything to do with web development, JavaScript, PHP, CSS, HTML, XHTML or XML, promoting JavaScript Editor will work for you beautifully.
Creative Suite
This is the ultimate bargain: 8 of our tools working together at one low price. Creative Suite sells well and is definitely worth promoting.
Animator Professional
This program is packed with functionality. With so many features it is usually easy to find some that are of particular importance to your visitors. Animator Professional can easily provide you with a stream of income - not as big as JavaScript Editor, but steady.

Ultimate Security Suite
This comprehensive security suite lets you secure your PC against all treats - essential against all the scumware ready to exploit any weakness your computer may have. This suite faces some tough competition from the big names - but in terms of functionality it is at least on equal terms, and security is becoming a big issue to ALL computer users.
PHP Editor
The sales of PHP Editor always lagged behind those of feature-rich JavaScript Editor.
However, in February 2008 JavaScript Editor and PHP Editor have been merged into a single program, suddenly giving PHP Editor a 400% boost in functionality. Promoting it to the PHP community has the potential to reach or even surpass JavaScript Editor sales.

Promoting against the odds:

Animator
Animator is our oldest program and it was the unexpected success of this little utility that prompted the development of Animator Professional.
I've expected Animator to sink when Microsoft released its free MovieMaker. I've expected Animator to vanish when multitudes of other animation programs hit the market.
Amazingly, the sales of this program are still strong, just under those of Animator Professional (which is many TIMES bigger and better program). I cannot explain it - Animator was last upgraded in 1998 and it gets no marketing (all the attention goes to Animator Professional), but it continues to sell. The fact that it does one thing beautifully - strings still images into an animation - in combination with a price tag of just $20 are probably the keys to its continuing success.
