It also helps you clear the files from both Temp & Temporary Internet folders, Windows temporary folder, Windows run menu, Find Files and text search and Windows recent open file listing, it erases Microsoft Office products list of last few files opened in each application. You can see active TCP connections and TCP / UDP ports on which the computer is listening, as well as all the running process in your system and lists them. It cleans the content inside it when you logoff and login. You can notice that the file size of index.dat file will be reduced after cleaning it using PC Privacy. Q: How to clean the content of index.dat file? Sol: Under Internet Explorer Option check the option-Clean History, Delete Temporary Internet Files and Clean index.dat file. Q: How to run PC Privacy automatically? Sol: Q: Does PC Privacy clean ALL cache through the computer? Sol: PC Privacy cleans the cache in your computer. Under the Netscape tab of PC Privacy there is an option Clean Cache. Under the IE Privacy tab there is an option Clean Temporary Internet Files. If you clean your computer by checking these options, cache will be cleaned. Q: Which Internet Browsers does PC Privacy support? Q: Can I restore deleted files? Sol: You cannot restore the deleted files. Q: Can I automatically update Spyware Eliminator signature database? Q: What is the difference between Auto-Scan and Scan Reminder? Sol: Auto-Scan will scan according to the time interval set and this is done only when the Ultimate Security Application is running. If the Application is shut down, then Auto-Scan stops working. If you set the Scan Reminder option, scanning is performed at the scheduled intervals even if the Application is shut down. Scan Reminder restarts the Ultimate Security Application and starts the scanning process in the background at the scheduled interval. Q: What is adware? Sol: Adware is a program that keeps track of your internet surfing habits and reports it back to its creators without user’s knowledge. Typically, these programs generate very annoying commercial popup ads. Q: What if I have a spyware in my system and Spyware Eliminator is not detecting it? Sol: If you have a spyware in your system and if Spyware Eliminator is not detecting it, you can send us a report of the spyware. Click on the Report Spyware button, fill in the form which comes up and submit. Our Spyware Eliminator research team will update the Spyware Eliminator signature database to detect and clean the spyware that you have reported. Q: Do I have the option of running a scan automatically? Sol: Yes, you can run a scan automatically. There is an option called Auto-Scan under Settings section. By checking this option Spyware Eliminator performs Typical Scan in the background according to the time interval set. Q: What is the difference between Typical Scan and Custom scan? Which is more effective? Sol: In Typical Scan by default - entire file system, the registry, and the system memory is scanned. In Custom Scan you can select exactly what you want to scan – Files, Registry or Memory. Q: How do I manually update Spyware Eliminator signature database? Sol: Go to the Update section and click on Check for Signature Updates. This will bring up True Update Application. Follow the instructions to complete the update process. Q: When is Anonymous Surf activated? Sol: When Anonymous Surf Off button changes to Anonymous Surfing On it signifies that Anonymous Surfing is operational. When Anonymous Surfing is active it will download the latest proxy server list from our central Anonymous Server Database and then choose the fastest server for your connection. Q: What is the difference between options use this proxy server, choose best server automatically and Use this proxy server from the list? Sol: 1. Use this proxy server: This allows you to specify the IP address of any proxy server that you want to use. 2. Choose best server automatically: This is the default setting and sets to the fastest server in the list. 3. Use this proxy server from the list: This allows you to select a proxy server from the list. Q: How can I revert back to my computer‘s original identity? Sol: You can always revert back to old identity by clicking on Anonymous Surfing On button which changes to Anonymous Surfing off which will restores your real, easily traceable identity. Q: Why I need Anonymous Surfing software? Sol: Many web sites you visit try to collect as much data about you as they can (your IP address, city, ISP) – this information is then exchanged between advertisers so that they can better target their promotional campaigns and literally track you on the Internet. Sol: Password Manager completes forms for you by filling in to forms details from a ‘profile’. When you start using Password Manager, you need to create a profile with all your information. Password Manager asks you to fill in these details the first time. You can create multiple different profiles. When you are logged in with your profile you don’t have to fill the web based form once again as Password Manager stores all your basic information for future web based form fill up. Q: Can I change the password for my profile? Sol: Yes, you can change the password for your profile. When you are logged in your profile click on Password Manager tab select change password enter old password enter new password and reconfirm the new password click on OK button. Your password will be changed to new one. Q: Is Password Manager spyware? Sol: No, Password Manager is not a spyware: it never transmits any data stored on your computer to the Internet. It is safe and secure. Q: What are the Hotkeys in Password Manager? Sol: Hotkeys for the basic operations that lets you work more easily with Password Manager. By default these hotkeys have been assigned to these operations. Spam Eliminator FAQQ: How does Spam Eliminator identify Spam? Sol: The plugin uses keywords in the message headers and message body, domain, Spam blacklists and also the internal Banned and Safe Lists to determine the probability of a mail being Spam and assigns the mail a score. Mails with scores above a preset threshold of 100 are marked as spam. Q: How does it work? Sol:Spam Eliminator integrates with Outlook / Outlook Express and scans your incoming POP/POP3 mail as it comes in for Spam and other unsolicited mails. Download and Install the plugin and it automatically starts filtering your mail. Q: How do I install it? Sol: Installation Instructions: Double click on the setup file (.exe) to launch the installer and follow the instructions. You will be asked if you want to import every address from your sent folder to the Safe List. You can do this now or later. This process may take some time after which you will be asked to reboot your computer. After you reboot your computer, open Outlook or Outlook Express. The Spam Eliminator toolbar will be visible. Also two separate folders PROCESS and SPAMS will be created. The Spam Eliminator application icon will be visible in the System Tray. Q:What do I have to do? How should I use it? Sol: After installing Spam Eliminator and rebooting your computer, open your Outlook/Outlook Express. As and when mails are downloaded, Spam Eliminator processes them in the Process folder. Spam mails will be moved to the SPAMS folder or can even be deleted. Once mails have been identified as legitimate they will be available in your Inbox. The Spam Eliminator plugin evaluates each mail and gives it a Spam score. A message with a Spam score of more than 100 is in all probability Spam. This score is assigned based on the many factors like keywords in the message headers and message body, domain, Spam blacklists and also the internal Banned List. Each time you mark a mail as Junk or Not Junk, you are fine-tuning the Spam Eliminator application and ensuring that future mails from that sender are accurately dealt with. Q: How do I ensure that my friends’ mails reach me always? Sol: Spam Eliminator allows you to add email addresses to a Safe List. Mails from people on this list are always delivered to your Inbox. The Safe List contains email addresses of senders who have sent you mail that you have identified as Not Junk. Any future mail from these senders is automatically delivered to your Inbox. Also your address book contacts are automatically added to the safe list upon first installation. All new friends added to your safe list as soon as you email them or reply to their emails. You can also add addresses manually to this list. You can also add email addresses of people you send mail to or whose mails you reply to. To do this, in the Safe List tab, check the Automatically add email option. Sol: The Banned List is a list of email addresses of senders who have sent you mail that you have identified as Junk. Any future mail from these senders is automatically tagged as Spam. You can add email addresses to this list manually. Also when you identify a mail as Junk, the sender is automatically added to this list. Mails from email addresses in your Banned List can be automatically deleted. Q: How does Spam Eliminator protect against latest spam mails? Sol: Whenever a user starts the system, Spam Eliminator updates its spam signatures automatically. This ensures that you have the most recent spam definitions to filter out any new spam mails. Sol: Both the Safe and Banned lists can be viewed in the Spam Eliminator application screen. The application screen can be brought up either from the system tray icon or from the options button on the Spam Eliminator toolbar. You can manually add or remove email addresses in both these lists from the Safe List and Banned List tabs in the Spam Eliminator application screen. Q: What do I do with mail in my Spam folder? Sol: Mails identified as Spam are by default available in the Spam folder. Initially it is advisable that you see the mails in this folder also so that legitimate mails don’t get lost. When you are reasonably sure that no false positives occur, you can also chose to delete these straight away and not have them moved to this folder. To do this, in the Options tab, choose the Spam will be deleted option. Sol: You can at any point to import every address from your sent folder to the Safe List. To do this, in the Options tab, click on the Sent Items Import button. Sol: You can choose to add them to your Blocked list. Mails from people on your blocked list can be automatically deleted. To do this, in the Banned List tab, chose the Delete mail from blocked addresses option. Sol: You can manually add and remove users from both the Banned and Safe lists.
